Our Beginning

The story of Beer Bread Pizza starts with a spark — the perfect location in the heart of Uptown Saint John. When we discovered a beautiful vintage building from the early 1900s, we knew it was meant for something special. What was once a historic bank is now transformed into a one-of-a-kind restaurant where Detroit-style pizza meets craft beer.

Our concept is simple: to welcome everyone into Chef Alex’s menu creations, where Mediterranean influences meet the East Coast. Every dish and pie is made by hand and baked on our signature dough, or sautéed in our signature sauces.

We’re preserving the character of the past while adding our own modern twist — creating a space that feels both timeless and exciting. From the restored architectural details, including a renovated and reimagined bank vault, to the aroma of beer bread crust baking in the oven, Beer Bread Pizza is where history and flavour meet.

Our Team

Behind every pizza and beer we brew is a crew that’s passionate about craft, creativity, and community. Our chef, brewmaster, bartenders, and servers share one vision — to make Beer Bread Pizza the go-to spot in Saint John for incredible food, great beer, and genuine hospitality.

From perfecting the balance of spent grain from our brewery in our beer-bread dough to curating a tap list full of local favourites, every member of our team brings their expertise and heart to the table.
